CK Therapy ; thoughtful reflections.
“The grass is greener where you water it” This beautiful quote helps remind us that just like everything else positive / compassionate mental health takes practice. It doesn’t just appear; we have to take care to work on it continuously. How often do you take care of your mental health? Is it the same amount of time you can allocate to your physical health ? Is it the same as the amount of time you take to brush your teeth? #grassisgreener #therapy #psychotherapy #emdr #arttherapy #mentalhealthquotes #motivationalquotes CK Therapy recommends;
Christine McGuiness: unmasking autism on BBC This is a powerful and important documentary exploring autism in women and girls. “In 2021, 33-year-old mother of three Christine McGuinness discovered that she was autistic, and suddenly, for the very first time, her whole life began to make sense. All the struggles she had faced growing up became clear, and Christine started to look at things from a new perspective and begin to make sense of who she really is. There are thousands of women in the UK, just like Christine, who have been battling with undiagnosed autism for decades, and now Christine is looking for answers. Why did it take so long before she received a diagnosis? What impact has this had on her life? How many other women out there have been let down too? And what can be done to improve the lives of autistic women and girls?” #christinemcguinness #christinemcguinessunmaskingautism #unmaskingautism #autism #autisminwomenandgirls #autisminwomenandgirls #eatingdisorderawareness #latediagnosis #latediagnosedautistic #therapy #therapist #emdr We are proud to celebrate and support neurodiversity celebration week 2023!

Consent has been given from the client who posted this lovely card to share of their gratitude to CK therapy manager and lead therapist Catherine. Catherine’s response; I would like to thank this client for their kind and deeply moving thoughts and words on their experience with myself in therapy. It was and is always an honour to be alongside theirs and anyones journey in therapy. So often humour gets missed from the therapy experience but it can be just as healing! As they address the journey can encompass everything from fear to humour. And I hope everyone gets the voice of compassion and healing at the end of the therapy process. #clientfeedback #reviews #humourintherapy #psychotherapy #emdr #compassionfocusedtherapy #therapistofinstagram #movingforward #therapyjourneys Ck Therapy ; thoughtful reflections.
“Forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn’t know before you learned it” We often see clients in the therapy room reflecting back on things like the unhealthy coping mechanisms they used to use like eating , self harm or smoking. They often shame themselves for not using healthy coping mechanisms; like going to the gym, safe place meditations, compassionate self talk and creative expression. We try to remind them ; they did the best they could with what they had at the time. And now with help , support and time they’ve learnt healthier means of coping and have capacity to practice them. It’s okay to learn.
