My Name is Catherine Kniveton and I started CK Therapy in the centre of Ashby De La Zouch as a caring and compassionate therapy service for all ages. I have a passion for helping people and have a team of experienced and qualified therapists who cover and specialise in different areas to help you find the best support for you. I am a Qualified and experienced Psychotherapist registered with the Health and Care professionals council. I have specialisms in Art Psychotherapy and EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy). I have over 7 years experience working as a therapist with adults, children and young people in various contexts and settings; including private practice, schools and secure mental health hospitals.
I have and do work with people who come to me with an broad range of experiences and or diagnosis including for example; Complex Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Self-Harm, Suicidal Ideation, PTSD, ADHD, BPD, Autism, Stress, Difficulties with Anger, Bereavement, Abuse and Low Self Esteem. My main work compromises looking at shame and trauma and helping fight that with compassion.
At the core of my work and is safety, empathy and establishing trust. To do this, I will always work at your pace, try to ensure you feel safe, comfortable and able to share your thoughts. We will work with whatever it is that you feel you want or need to bring to the therapy room. And everything you do bring will always be met with a non judgemental ear.

I am really passionate about sensory needs and helping people to learn what theirs are.
I have designed the therapy rooms to be very sensory friendly for those who struggle with sensory overwhelm and to help those who haven't yet discovered how looking after their surroundings feels like.
