CK Therapy : EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy)
We often get asked What does EMDR feel like… Just like in a big sort out of your home, in EMDR Therapy you may gently open the boxes of memories and experiences that have been tucked away. Some things you might choose to keep because they matter, or they’re part of your story. Some feelings can be put back where they belong, in the past, or to someone else, rather than carried with you or into the present. And some things like shame that was never yours to hold can be carefully let go of. EMDR isn’t about erasing what happened. It’s about sorting, organising, and deciding what no longer needs to take up space in your mind , you’re just making room to breathe. EMDR is an intensive therapy. We often describe traditional psychotherapy as a walk, while EMDR can feel more like a run. Throughout the process, we will take steps to ensure you move at a pace that feels right for you, helping you stay grounded and safe enough for the faster pace when needed. There is no “right” or “wrong” option our goal is simply to support you in reaching the place you want to be.
