Beautiful drawing which helps illustrate how all our thoughts have layers. It might take time to peel them back and figure out how we process our thoughts and emotions and what we can do to challenge those negative ones in time.
Thank you @trainee_psych_scribbles for sharing.

Healing is not a linear process;
Instead it’s often one of a hard upward spiral. You often process things cyclically and each time it comes around, you peel back another layer and get closer to healing & your true self.
Everyone’s experience is unique and valid.

In March, during Eating Disorders Awareness Week you can start to help change that.
You can help start that conversation, get involved , share your experience and get help, tips and support.
There’s so many resources for yourself , your family & schools on https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk
If you’re struggling and would like to reach out for therapy feel free to contact me via email@example.com

Sleep is vital to help our mental health.
The mental health foundation have a free how to guide to help you sleep better : https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/publicat.../how-sleep-better
Personal recommendation (not an advert) : I find @featheranddownsleep do a great pillow spray that smells like a spa day! The repeated night routine & the relaxing scent often help with positive calming associations that help aid sleep.

New Self care recommendation : BBC sounds soundscape for well-being website and library.
The website has a great collection of relaxing natural sounds including a walk in the woods & rainfall. There is a vast collection of nature inspired well-being material like well-being music playlists and an introduction by David Attenborough and much more.

I’d like to share some of @bethdrawsthings images / posts. I find her drawings are often perfectly simple and beautiful reminders that parts of our lives and experiences can and are really tricky at times! But it’s okay to feel what we feel and motivate and be kind to ourselves when we can. #bethdrawsthings #itsokay #taketime #mentalhealthsupport #smallthings #motivation #selfcare
Art Therapy is a form of psychotherapy; an expressive form of therapy to help with healing and mental health.
Art isn't a necessity within the therapy room, however, it is used to help with the process.
For many people words are just not enough or too difficult to use when trying to express our thoughts and feelings ....
Art Therapy allows for an alternative form of expression and communication which can feel safer and easier for many.
When we experience trauma and or highly stressful experiences the language part of the brain will often shut down so we experience and remember trauma visually. Therefore it makes it easier to re-process , accept and move forward from these difficult and traumatic experiences in a visual way.
Art Therapy can be for anyone of any age; there is no expectation to use the materials. The trained therapist works within your window of tolerance.
If you'd like to try Art Therapy or for further information you can contact me via email; firstname.lastname@example.org
