CK Therapy : compassionate reframing ;
“The way you learned to survive is not the way you have to live.” So many coping strategies begin as protection. What once kept you safe may now be keeping you disconnected, exhausted, or stuck in patterns you no longer need. Survival responses are often intelligent adaptations to difficult experiences , not evidence that something is “wrong” with you. Compassionate reframing invites us to move from: “What’s wrong with me?” to “What happened to me, and what did I need to do to survive it?” Healing isn’t about judging the version of you that coped the best way it knew how. It’s about recognising that survival no longer has to be your permanent home. #compassionatereframing #compassionatemind #compassionatemindapproach #psychotherapy #EMDR

CK Therapy resource recommendations - app recommendation
Juno : Health companion We have as a team started using JUNO with our clients and would recommend it whole heartedly. JUNO is a gentle, calming app with soothing music while using that we’ve found can help people better understand the connection between their physical and emotional symptoms throughout their therapy journey. We work with many clients experiencing PMDD, chronic illness, endometriosis, and trauma, and having something that feels easy to use, comforting, and able to highlight patterns can be incredibly supportive. It can help clients explore self-care more meaningfully in sessions, as well as support conversations with their doctor around more joined-up care. We also really value the sense of community within the app, including the support groups, which can help people feel less alone in their experiences. It can often feel difficult to explain things to your doctor, especially when symptoms fluctuate or overlap. Being able to create graphs, PDFs, and clear statistics can make those conversations feel easier and help people advocate for the support and care they need. We also really love the spoons feature, compassionate supportive lessons & grounding techniques on the app. We sometimes explore these in sessions, and having a simple visual way to track and understand energy levels can be incredibly helpful and validating. for more reccomendations visit our resource page; https://www.ckpsychotherapy.co.uk/resources.html Juno app website; https://junocompanion.com no adverts just genuine therapists recommendations! #notanadjustafan #chronichealthsupport #psychotherapistrecommendation Hello we’re Catherine and Carolyn, two friends, colleagues and psychotherapists who love a curious conversation. Twice translated is a safe space to gently explore trying to bridge the experiences of everyone. Season 1 explored autistic and non autistic experiences from masking, diagnosis, big feelings and how processing styles may differ between individuals. With curiosity, compassion and humour, we share insights, psycho-education, tools, personal experiences and fictitious case examples from the therapy room to help everyone feel more understood. We would love to hear from you.
what did you think of season 1 ? What would you like in season 2 ? If you’ve been feeling frustrated by your emotional reactions lately, it may be because they’re rooted in experiences from the past. When trauma is triggered, we don’t always respond from our current age or perspective, sometimes we react from the age at which the wound was first created.
It’s incredibly common to feel like your reactions are “bigger” than the situation in front of you. There’s a biological reason for that. Your nervous system works like a historian, holding onto memories of where you were hurt and staying alert to protect you from experiencing that pain again. Often, it responds in the ways it once learned were necessary for survival. If you notice yourself feeling or reacting “younger” during moments of stress, it doesn’t mean you’re weak or immature. It may be a sign that a younger part of you still needs care, safety, and compassion, perhaps in ways they never fully received at the time. #traumainformedcare #psychotherapy #innerchild #compassion #thoughtfulquotes CKTherapy : thoughtful reflections
“We spend more time with our own inner voices than anyone else’s, how kind is yours?” The voice in your head matters. It’s the one you wake up with, carry through hard moments, and hear long after conversations end. Therapy isn’t about becoming perfect , it’s about learning to speak to yourself with more compassion, patience, and understanding. What would change if your inner voice sounded more supportive than critical ? #SelfCompassion #InnerVoice #psychotherapy |
