I’d like to share some of @bethdrawsthings images / posts. I find her drawings are often perfectly simple and beautiful reminders that parts of our lives and experiences can and are really tricky at times! But it’s okay to feel what we feel and motivate and be kind to ourselves when we can. #bethdrawsthings #itsokay #taketime #mentalhealthsupport #smallthings #motivation #selfcare
Art Therapy is a form of psychotherapy; an expressive form of therapy to help with healing and mental health. Art isn't a necessity within the therapy room, however, it is used to help with the process. For many people words are just not enough or too difficult to use when trying to express our thoughts and feelings .... Art Therapy allows for an alternative form of expression and communication which can feel safer and easier for many. When we experience trauma and or highly stressful experiences the language part of the brain will often shut down so we experience and remember trauma visually. Therefore it makes it easier to re-process , accept and move forward from these difficult and traumatic experiences in a visual way. Art Therapy can be for anyone of any age; there is no expectation to use the materials. The trained therapist works within your window of tolerance. If you'd like to try Art Therapy or for further information you can contact me via email; [email protected] Another article on Art Therapy that may be of interest;
